What Kent Greyhound Rescue Expects From You

A real desire to give one of our dogs a loving home where he or she will be loved, protected and cared for, for the rest of his or her life.

Commitment & Patience– your new dog will take time to settle into your family. Even the dogs in foster homes will become unsettled when moved away from their familiar surroundings and may become restless.

Honesty – please do not forget to mention the children, the cat, or try to reduce your working hours because the dog you want is only suitable for people who work part time, or not used to living with children.

Understanding the Adoption Agreement – we expect you to read and understand the adoption agreement before signing it. In the unlikely event of the homing failing, you must return the dog to KGR. You must also appreciate that there may be a delay whilst we wait for a kennel space and be prepared to hold onto the dog, until a space becomes available. We do not return the donation fee if the dog is returned to KGR.

What You Can Expect From Kent Greyhound Rescue

Our rehoming volunteers understand all of the dogs in our care and will match you with the dog that best suits your family and lifestyle.

We will offer full back up and support, especially in the first few weeks. We encourage adopters to contact us if there is a potential problem so we can help.

We will be honest and disclose fully the dogs temperament and medical history. Each dog is supplied with a care and veterinary report as part of the rehoming paperwork
