Ben is 2-3 year old cross breed with a hint of greyhound in him. He arrived at KGR as a lurcher but really he is a good old fashioned Heinz 57 dog with a bit of everything in him. Although if you look at his face, you can see the greyhound eyes which tell us he just wants to be loved.
Ben is a big soppy hound who just wants to be cuddled - despite his size he would quite happily try to sit on your knee given the chance. When you first walk him he is a little excited but soon calms down and walks well on the lead. He is very keen to do what you want him to, although at the moment he hasn't got much of a clue, as no one in his previous life has told him what is expected of him. He would really benefit from training classes so he can bond with his owners allowing them to understand each other. We do take Ben out for trips to the pub or coffee shops to socialise him and he has never let us down with bad behaviour - he just sits quietly with the other dogs until its time to go.
Because he is a crossbreed we are struggling to rehome him, as people approach us to adopt a sighthound. Ben would have been rehomed months ago if he was in an all breed rescue as he is a super dog. He is the same height as a greyhound but is broader as he possibly has some Labrador in him. Ben will make a really lovely, loyal and affectionate family dog, he just needs someone to give him the chance.
