Finn is looking for a new home with owners who will help his confidence grow - he is a beautiful boy but he is still a little timid outside the home so he needs a calm supportive home with routine.  He is great with other dogs he knows and can live with them.

Finn is currently in a foster home and he is the perfect dog in the home - he is a scruffy twit out on his walks but he turns into a laid back and lazy greyhound when back in the house.  He loves the sofa, your bed, his bed and anywhere else he can have a nap = preferably with a lap to snuggle into.  For a young lurcher Finn is actually very lazy.  He can also be left - although he is currently left with another dog his foster mum does work and Finn is fine with the arrangement.

Finn can also be an only dog, so long as someone is around for most of the time and you have the time and patience to support him and make him settle.  He will settle quicker with other dogs.

Like lots of sighthounds, he can be a reactive with other dogs when on a lead - he does this because he is scared so he needs his owners to reassure him and keep him calm - this can be done following the advice on hound socialisation on our website.  Finn looks at the humans for guidance so if you stay calm and reassure him, he understands dogs are not so scary.

If you have children please read our section on children and hounds.  Finn can live with older children but we will expect you to sign up for and attend training classes with your children.

Please make sure you are in a position to adopt a dog, before completing the online adoption form. We are unable to hold onto dogs for more than a few days, once you have passed your homecheck.

We do rehome throughout the UK, so long as you are prepared to travel to meet the dog within a few days of applying for him and then again to adopt him, once you have passed your homecheck.
