Del boy has come to us from a local family. His mum was a GSD and his dad a lurcher (greyhound x bedlington) and he was brought up with both parents in a home environment.  He has been a much loved family pet and he is very well socialised around people, horses and other dogs.  Del Boy is having to look for a new home because of an incident with sheep - once in a normal domestic setting, with a secure garden, he will be fine.  He will not be homed in a rural setting because we will not risk him getting into more trouble.

Del Boy really is Mr Perfect in lots of ways - he is super friendly to everyone, he is a real cuddle monster, a big softie and full of character.

You will also need to take Del Boy to training classes so he understands property boundaries (i.e. fences) and understands humans are in charge and he is not to go walkabout on his own. He is a clever, very willing to please dog, so training will not be difficult.  He is not being naughty when he goes walkabout - he has just never been taught not to wander off.  He can and will clear a 6 foot fence until he is taught not to.

Del is looking for an active home, with people who are around for most of the day, or who have doggie day care solutions and/or other dogs.  He is just a big lump of cuddliness with a laid back nature but he is still a puppy so he does need time and attention.

If you have children please read our section on hounds and children. He cannot be rehomed with young children as he is big and boucy.

Del Boy can live with other dogs but not cats.

Please make sure you are in a position to adopt a dog, before completing the online adoption form. We are unable to hold onto dogs for more than a few days, once you have passed your homecheck.

We do rehome throughout the UK, so long as you are prepared to travel to meet the dog within a few days of applying for him and then again to adopt him, once you have passed your homecheck.
