Bentley was AtlasBack to Hounds Needing Homes
- 4 Years Old
- Cat Friendly
Bentley is a very special boy.
He was rescued from a very abusive background so can be very timid and nervous around people he doesn't know. He is currently living in a foster home with other dogs and he is a very happy boy there, because it is an environment that he knows and loves. He also lives with cats and he is 100% safe with them.
If you want to visit Bentley please be aware that you won't get any emotion from him or bonding with him - he is scared of strangers. We are looking for that special family who will take a leap of faith and believe in this dog, he will come round as he has done in his foster home - but to do that you will have to trust us and trust him. He will probably just stand and stare at you, hiding in the corner. You need to have buckets full of patience with him and be prepared to let him come around in his own time and at his own pace.
Once Bentley knows you he adores you - in his foster home (if you were a fly on the wall) you can see the settled, happy, loving boy that we all know he is.
Because he doesn't like new situations he is looking for an adult only home - he is fine with children but he would prefer to live with just adults. He loves other dogs and can live with cats. He can also be left if you work (so long as you have other dogs - not tested as an only dog).
You will need a 100% secure garden for Bentley in case he gets nervous when he first arrives and looks for an escape route - once settle he won't do this. A normal sized garden would be best as too much land will unsettle him.
