Weekly Roundup

It’s been a busy time as always at Kent Greyhound Rescue. We have had new arrivals and been out and about.
Trevor and Neil visited Mr Whippet in Sandgate on a very wet and cold day. Very friendly place to take your dog. Both boys very good and pleased to shelter from the downpour!
Joe and Bob went to St Margaret’s Bay Beach and stopped for lunch at The Coastguard Pub. Again shelter from the wet was a relief!
Dudley has found he loves football and has a fantastic time chasing a ball around. He also likes to keep an eye on proceedings from the window including the recycling collection and also he enjoys collecting foster dads slippers and adding them to his toy collection!

We attended the Sighthound Sundays walk at Jeskyns Country Park. This is a very enjoyable and social walk and great for helping the dogs meet new dogs, people and experiences, we would like to thank the organisers for all their hard work in putting this together.

We had new arrivals including 3 greyhounds and 2 hairy lurchers. The greyhounds  are called Nuala, Liam and Mac. Nuala and Mac are both very nervous and will take a few weeks to settle. Liam is a rather gorgeous white greyhound with black spots (so maybe he will also appeal to Dalmatian fans!)

The hairy lurchers are Lilly who is 2 years old and George who is a year old. Both were super cute, great fun and full of mischief and have gone off to new homes already!
We are looking for volunteers to help with vet runs to our vets in Dover, Hythe or Maidstone. This would be when needed and not every week. It would help us out so much and we would be very grateful. It would be ideal for maybe a retired person/couple or part time worker. If you are interested please email [email protected]

We also attended the Paws & Claws event in Maidstone on Thursday with Neil, Timmy and Joe. Timmy needed a nap in the afternoon despite being an 18 month old Lurcher! They got lots of attention which they enjoyed and thank you to everyone who donated money.

We will be out and about over the bank holiday weekend so keep your eyes on social media to see when and where if you want to say hello and meet the dogs.
