Josie is a fabulous older girl who is loving living in her foster home.  Josie enjoys speeding around the garden playing with either her foster family or their other hounds. She is great on the lead, walking at whatever pace we do and happy to go on long walks.

Josie loves being with people and in particular having cuddles! She always likes to be in whichever room we are but is also happy and well behaved if left when we go out. We think she would be fine as an only dog but maybe wouldn’t fare too well with someone who had to leave her on own regularly.

She is great with children and adults like, Josie is just a super friendly loving little dog!

Josie is 8 years old and when she arrived at KGR she was simply shattered.  She had done races at Perry Barr in 2016 and was then sent back to Ireland to breed – so she has puppies at 6 years old.  Once the dogs leave the UK (even after 4 years od racing at Perry Barr) they leave the protection of the GBGB so – for example, Josie now isn’t included in their annual figures of how many race and how many they save.  That means Josie had no help and no protection from the industry she raced for.

Josie can live with children but please read our guidance on children and hounds.

Josie has a pet passport.

Please make sure you are in a position to adopt a dog, before completing the online adoption form. We are unable to hold onto dogs for more than a few days, once you have passed your homecheck.

We do rehome throughout the UK, so long as you are prepared to travel to meet the dog within a few days of applying for him and then again to adopt him, once you have passed your homecheck.
