Forest is one of 4 puppies born at our rescue kennels on 12th January 2018 – Mum is Blossom the adorable lurcher and Dad is unknown, although her puppies were very large so we think he may have been a greyhound. The puppies will be looking for homes around 9th March at 8 weeks old. They will be vaccinated and microchipped and you will need to sign a neutering agreement.

Mum is a super dog and she is a fabulous mum – the pups are being given so much love and she looks after them so well. They will be happy, healthy, confident puppies who are well socialised, used to being handled and ready for their new adventure when they leave us in March.

Puppies are incredibly hard work, although also very rewarding and we need to ensure you have the time and the commitment to owning a puppy, so you don’t return it to us after a few months. They are not suitable pets for people who work full time – they will keep you awake at night so you are tired the next day and then they may chew up your home, if left all day, because they are bored. Do you want to come home from work (tired because he has kept you awake) and have to start clearing up and repairing damage. It would be incredibly cruel to keep a puppy locked up on a crate all day to avoid the issues in the home. Puppies are like babies – you need to be around for them or have suitable alternative arrangements. They need fed 3 or 4 times a day and you need to be around to help with the toilet training.

You will also need to find the time to go to puppy classes to help your new puppy develope into a good doggie citizen.

If you have the time and commitment puppies are great fun and a wonderful experience but we need you to think carefully before applying to adopt. The puppies can live with other dogs, cats and children. If you have children please remember puppies play bite and jump, so you need to be in control and train the dog not to do this, so there are no issues.

The puppies will be able to have visits from middle of February – we will have lots of pictures and videos of them on our facebook page over the next 6 weeks.

Please make sure you are in a position to adopt a dog, before completing the online adoption form. We are unable to hold onto dogs for more than a few days, once you have passed your homecheck.

We do rehome throughout the UK, so long as you are prepared to travel to meet the dog within a few days of applying for him and then again to adopt him, once you have passed your homecheck.
