Greyhounds Love the World Book Day!

What is World Book Day?

World Book Day is an annual event celebrated in March, dedicated to honouring authors, illustrators, and the joy of books. This charitable occasion is observed across the United Kingdom and Ireland, offering a fantastic opportunity to emphasise the pleasure of reading.

In line with this theme, we’ve curated a selection of greyhound books:

Firstly, we have our own Dora featured in her book titled “Her Funny Memoirs!” This light-hearted read chronicles HRH Dora’s journey to celebrity fame as the face of Kent Greyhound Rescue. It’s a must-read for anyone. In celebration of World Book Day, we wanted to showcase our current resident hounds enjoying Dora’s book. While it’s true that greyhounds can’t read, they certainly cherish spending quality time with their humans!

Rio, one of our volunteer dogs, initially struggled to settle but has since blossomed into a marvellous companion. Then we have our permanent sponsor dog, Zippy, who suffers from panic attacks, now finds solace living with Dora. Also we have Sugar Plum, currently in foster care with Dora’s mom, eagerly awaits a forever home. And last but not least, here’s Dora herself, immersed in her own story.
