Ways of donating to us
At KGR, we’ve played a crucial role in finding homes for more than 2000 dogs over the past 15 years. Our commitment extends to assisting various breeds, including greyhounds, lurchers, sighthounds, and even the occasional non-pointy-nosed variety. We’ve been there for dogs with broken bones, broken spirits, shattered minds, and wounded hearts, guiding them towards healing and eventual placement in their forever families.
Whether they’re sad and shy, happy and confident, young or old, every dog holds a special place in our hearts. Our primary goal is to witness them settling into their new lives with joy and contentment. As we’ve evolved from a modest beginning of fostering a few dogs, we now find ourselves at a pivotal moment. We are actively seeking to acquire our own kennels, expanding our capacity to aid even more rescue dogs, regardless of their shapes, sizes, or conditions.
Your continued support, both now and in the future, is immensely valued as we embark on this journey to make a lasting impact on the lives of countless dogs in need.

Save a dog life by donating to Kent Greyhound Rescue
In the 15 years of KGR’s existence, we have rehomed over 2,000 dogs – greyhounds, lurchers, whippets and other sighthounds – across Kent, the UK and even further afield in Europe. We are committed, compassionate and caring, and over the years, alongside resucing and rehoming the dogs, we have also campaigned tirelessly for the animal welfare.
We do not receive any money from the racing industry or public funds. It is thanks to the people and organisations that work with KGR giving their time, expertise and resources, as well as donations and fundraising we have been able to help so many animals and also turned so many people into happy dog owners!
As a non-profit entity all the money raised by KGR goes towards the charity’s work.
We fully cover all costs for our rescue dogs, from transporation and pet passports to accommodation and vet bills, and more. You can read more about what goes into the work we do in this blog post: KGR dogs: from arrival to finding a forever home.
Every dog that comes to us receives full medical treatment – this is fully funded by KGR, no matter how small or big and costly the treatment needs to be. KGR never gives up on a dog with poor health if we know it can recover and its quality of life will improve with treatment. Over the years, we have funded numerous surgeries, including some very challenging ones.
We also assist with behavioural training. A lot of dogs come with psychological scars of neglect and mistreatment, or they have never been trained – we want to give them the best possible chance in their new life.
We never give up on or abandon a dog, not matter how difficult its case might be. In the 15 years of our work, we have come across some shocking instances of neglect, cruelty and mistreatment of animals and we have been doing everything in our power to help. Costly medical treatment and surgeries, lengthy behavioural rehabilitation – we have done it all. And we have seen first-hand the amazing transformation that care and love does to a dog.
We are incredibly grateful to every individual and company who donate to us. Kent Greyhound Rescue would simply not exist without you!
We work tirelessly to help as many hounds as possible to find a forever home and nothing makes us happier than seeing our dogs becoming much-loved pets and having a good life.
Last year we rehomed 175 dogs, and this year we will endeavour to grow this number to over 200. Your donations – however big or small – are vital in our mission to save even more dogs.
If you pay tax please complete the gift aid form at the bottom of this page, we can then claim tax back on your donations. The form can be filled in online and will be returned directly to us.
