Latest News From KGR 4/06/23

Another busy week here at KGR, we’ve said goodbye to Matty and Bobby. Also  Vic and Liam who went off together over the weekend as they start their new lives in their forever homes and also Summer left to live with a family with teenagers so we are sure she will love all the attention and fun and games she will get there. Just perfect for a lively puppy.

Slippers visited The British Country Show and earned himself lots of attention as did Timmy our 18 month old Lurcher. Both boys were well behaved and got on with all different sized dogs and lots of people noise and music noise. Well done boys, both boys are going to make great pets.

As always there was a desperate plea from our local dog warden for 2 greyhounds on death row so they arrived (after much shifting around of foster dogs!) over the weekend, more to follow as they settle in and get out and about.

Polly our pint pot sized puppy is turning into a proper little mischief maker, just what you would expect from a puppy and she is also cat workable if you follow our guidelines.

Nervous Mac and Nuala are both in foster now and both dogs are really starting to flourish outside of the kennel environment which is fabulous to see. All taking small steps towards their new lives whilst happy bouncy Bruce is much more steady now he’s out of kennels and loving his walks and time sunbathing in the garden.

Little Lurcher pup Radi finally had her first op on one leg, this week and had to stay at the vets for a few nights as she was in quite a bit of pain but she’s home with her foster mum now. The second op will follow in a few weeks and then she will have 2 straight front legs! She should be able to lead a happy and pain free life in the future so thank you to everyone that has donated towards her treatment. Updates will follow on our social media and future blogs.

A huge thank you to Sighthound Sundays who have supported us again this month, Millie, Toastie, Bernard and Archie have all joined the walk today so hopefully some people have met them and said hello.

Talking of good times, Archie, Bernard and Millie all went along to Hugo’s Dog Field at Dunkirk and had a great time! Archie was even persuaded to try out some of the agility activities! This boy has such a zest for life, he’s just on his own happy planet. They all kept exploring for the full hour, unusual for most greyhounds but as it’s quite wooded there were loads of sniffs to be had.

Our online auction ended so another big thank you to everyone who placed bids and won some goodies. A grand total of £650 was raised which is totally amazing! Thank you.
