Sponsoring a dog helps Kent Greyhound Rescue help the dogs who just cannot find a home. It means these dogs can stay with us as long term foster dogs and live a long and happy life. You can donate a small monthly amount and be part of their family. We will keep in touch every few months to let you know what they have been up to and what adventures they have had. Plus special photos to show how much they are enjoying their life.

About Wilma
Wilma came to Kent Greyhound Rescue in late 2025. She was 10 years old when she arrived with us, and she has been nothing but a gentle, sweet soul.
Wilma had her last litter at the age of eight, and Roxie — who also joined us at the same time — was one of her puppies from that litter. The two girls have a very special bond and clearly find great comfort in each other’s company.
Why does Wilma need sponsoring?
Roxie and Wilma were incredibly close, so we felt it was important to try to keep them together if we could. As 10-year-old greyhounds can be harder to rehome, we spoke to Roxie’s new family to see if they would consider fostering Wilma as well.
They very kindly said yes, and Wilma went to live with them as a long-term foster, meaning the two girls could stay together and continue to enjoy each other’s company.

Kent Greyhound Rescue
Everyone at Kent Greyhound Rescue is a volunteer (no one is paid). So when you buy from our shop you are directly helping us save more lives. All profits from the shop help KGR rescue, rehabilitate and rehome more greyhounds, lurchers, whippets, galgos, or podencos. We get no funding from the racing industry so our online shop really does allow us to continue the work we do.

Kent Greyhound Rescue will reclaim the tax you have paid on all your donations made in the last four years, and any future donations you may make. To qualify for Gift Aid, you must pay as much UK income and/or capital gains tax as Kent Greyhound Rescue (and any other organisation you may support) will reclaim in each tax year (6 April to 5 April), currently 25p for every £1 you donate. If you pay less it is your responsibility to pay back any difference. Gift Aid will be used to fund Kent Greyhound Rescue’s general work.
