As you may have read in our news blog earlier, we are opening a new exciting chapter of our Kent Greyhound Rescue journey – the search for a larger base for our operations that would enable us to grow our rescue numbers, and also create a community hub in Kent (you can read more about it here).
We are very grateful to everyone who is helping us along this journey – be it contributing their time, resources, skills and/or donating money to KGR – and we’ll be sharing more details on our progress very soon!
Our new base will have considerably more space than our current HQ and will feature kennels, which are crucial for our operations as they are safe spaces for our rescue dogs to be treated, assessed, and introduced to the new environment. The kennels will also be open to the public to use for their dogs – of all breeds. You can read more about the KGR work that goes on in the kennels here.
Home boarding
But we also want to take a step further and launch a home boarding service for greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds. We know first-hand that these breeds have specific needs. And it can be challenging and stressful for these hounds to stay in the kennels once they are used to a comfortable sofa at home, especially as most of them had a really difficult start in life and probably had really bad experience in the kennels when they were racing, before they were rescued and rehomed.
We know many owners would prefer their greyhounds and lurchers to be looked after in a home environment.
Our new HQ will have sufficient space to introduce home boarding in addition to kennels. Of course, it will be fully licensed and compliant with all the relevant regulations.
It will be staffed with experienced people who will ensure the hounds are well looked after. With the KGR home boarding, owners will have a complete peace of mind whilst they are away.

As we are expanding rapidly, we’ll be growing our team in other areas too. There will be various positions available, both part-time and full-time, remote and onsite.
