Racing Name: Silver Star Lady

Eowyn is a fabulous smaller brindle girl with a wonderful character. She gets so excited to see her people before happily popping off for a well-earned rest a few minutes later.

Eowyn is incredibly cuddly and absolutely loves affection. And when it comes to food… well, her foster family say she eats like a horse! She finishes her dinner and then patiently waits to see if her foster brother is leaving any behind for her to help with.

This clever girl is also learning that adventures can be great fun. Recently, she decided to test the waters (literally) and ventured into the sea up to her chest! She was feeling quite brave until an unexpected wave arrived and convinced her that perhaps dry land wasn’t such a bad idea after all… This experience was followed by another new discovery: the shower. Thankfully, Eowyn took the whole pampering session in her stride!

Eowyn is currently living alongside another sighthound in foster care and has been studying hard to become a proper pet dog. On walks, she copies her foster dog so much that she’s even been spotted trying to cock her leg where he does… she’s got to make sure she’s doing the whole dog-walk thing properly! It’s a very endearing glimpse of Eowyn’s curious and eager-to-learn nature.

With her cheerful personality, affectionate nature and growing confidence, she’s sure to make a wonderful companion.

In the early days of adoption, it’s your responsibility to keep her safe by keeping her world small and calm. Take things slowly and gently build up to more exciting experiences – too much, too soon can be overwhelming and may make the adoption harder.

Please remember to stay calm and relaxed throughout this settling-in period. If you feel anxious or stressed, then your new dog is likely to feel the same. Greyhounds are incredibly sensitive, emotional souls and are very good at picking up on our moods.

Eowyn has only spent time in kennels, so some everyday household sights and sounds may still feel new, confusing or a little worrying for her. She’ll need gentle introductions to things like hoovers, TVs and busy home life, along with plenty of reassurance as she learns that she’s safe. With time, patience and understanding, Eowyn will blossom into a wonderful companion, ready to share life’s adventures with you.

Before applying to adopt, please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the 3-3-3 rule. This is some of the best advice available to help a new dog settle successfully into their new home.

3 days – In the first three days, your dog may feel scared, anxious or overwhelmed. She may also test boundaries as she tries to understand his new environment.

3 weeks – After around three weeks, she should start to feel more settled and become familiar with her routine. This is often when her personality begins to shine through.

3 months – By three months, your new dog will truly understand that this is her home. She’ll feel relaxed, secure and trusting, and much more like herself.
