Vera arrived with her siblings Timmy and Cal.  They are all show greyhounds breed to have a tough old life at Crufts, not racing.  She is a small, very elegant dog who can live with other dogs.    She has really blossomed in her foster home and is a perfectly well behaved young lady.  She is really affectionate, very good with the other dogs, very obedient and just a pretty perfect dog.

Please remember she is a young dog – we know this is stating the obvious but young  greyhounds are not the same as older retired greyhounds and they want to play and muck around a lot more – and they need more time and attention.

She is a very affectionate dog and she needs owners who will be kissy cuddly with her – she wants to be snuggled up with you.  She adores other dogs but they need to be playful and affectionate with her.

As show greyhound they have never been trained to race or chase.  She has been tested with cats and she just ignored them so she will be quite easy to cat train (if you still follow our guidance).  She is still a young dog so she will need more exercise that a regular, older greyhound.

We rehomed 2 of their other siblings in the summer and although very lively and puppy like they both settled into their new homes and are both trained to live with cats.

If you have children please read our section on children and hounds.

Vera is cat workable so long as you follow the guidance on cat and dog introductions.  Please note we do not rehome to families with both young children and cats.  Please note if you choose not to follow our guidance correctly the cat training will likely fail and you will return her.

Please make sure you are in a position to adopt a dog, before completing the online adoption form. We are unable to hold onto dogs for more than a few days, once you have passed your homecheck.

We do rehome throughout the UK, so long as you are prepared to travel to meet the dog within a few days of applying for him and then again to adopt him, once you have passed your homecheck.
