Kent Greyhound Rescue Rehabilitation Centre

At Kent Greyhound Rescue, we never give up on a dog

In the 15 years of our work, we have come across some shocking instances of neglect, cruelty and mistreatment of animals and we have been doing everything in our power to help.

You can read the story of Casper, a white lurcher who was brutally beaten and abandoned, but who has now fully recovered and found a loving home thanks to the KGR team. Rory and Parsnip, who were incredibly malnourished and left to fend for themselves until KGR took them in. They are now both healthy and happy in their forever homes. These are just a couple of so many cases KGR is dealing with on a regular basis.

As part of the next stage of development of our charity, we are going to set up a rehabilitation centre for the rescued greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds.

Costly medical treatment and surgeries, lengthy behavioural rehabilitation – we have done it all. And we have seen first-hand the amazing transformation that care and love does to a dog.

As part of the next stage of development of our charity, we are going to set up a rehabilitation centre for the rescued greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds.

The new base of KGR operations – which is currently underway of being established (read all about it here) – will have a dedicated, fully-equipped space and team to provide the physical and mental rehabilitation to the dogs that need it.

The work will include round the clock monitoring, visits to the vets, physio, behavioural training, exercise and anything else required to nurture a dog to health and ready for adoption.

As we do not receive any government funding or assistance from the racing industry, and we rely fully on donations to keep the charity going. All of your donations, however big or small, are greatly appreciated and go to a fantastic cause!

We want to say a huge thank you to our volunteers, supporters and partners. Thanks to the people and organisations that work with KGR giving their time, expertise and resources, as well as donations and fundraising we have been able to help so many animals and also turned so many people into happy dog owners!

If you would like to help us build a rehabilitation centre, please donate to KGR.

All the money raised goes to KGR – we are a fully-compliant, registered charity so all the money is always accounted for. We are grateful for every donation, big or small.
