Welcome to Kent Greyhound Rescue

KGR is a registered charity run by a very dedicated group of volunteers who passionately believe in helping the dogs find loving homes.  We find homes for around 150 dogs per annum, most of whom are rescued from the dog pound, so we really are saving lives.  Our administration office is  based near Hythe in Kent but our dogs are either kennelled near Rochester in North West Kent or they are living in foster homes throughout Kent.

We receive no funding from the racing industry and rely solely on public donations to fund the work we do.  To help raise funds our volunteers are out 51 weeks of the year both fundraising and raising awareness.  You will see us out and about at fundraising events most weekends from April to October and at street collections throughout the winter months. Why not have a look at our events section and come along to meet the KGR volunteer team and our homeless dogs.

Although primarily set up to help find new homes for abandoned greyhounds, we also help lurchers and other sighthounds.  Please have a browse around our website which will give you lots of information about KGR, the dogs we currently have looking for homes, greyhounds and lurchers as pets, and how you can help us.

Here is how you can help us:
